importance of walking
We all know that sometimes we feel tired and so we are forced to take a rest or just walk for a while. We get to know each other, it is not just about our job but also it’s about us as human beings. And even more important than walking is walking because if we do not walk from time to time, we start eating disorders like obesity, heart disease. Well, then what are you waiting for? Let’s go with this and tell you how we need to walk every day!
Everyone knows walking helps reduce heart disease risk and that by one hour a day can reduce blood pressure. In addition, it also reduces stress levels which results in better sleep. As a first step, please, try to walk more if possible because most of us get tired with hours of sitting. And I don’t doubt that it would help your health. You cannot take a rest without your body going into overworking and increasing blood pressure to reach such dangerous levels. And it will only be a good exercise if our main purpose is to stay healthy.
It has been observed that when we make time to walk, we lose weight. The best thing about that is that we are able to stay fit which makes our clothes and the whole look good on the outside. Not only that, but our minds also get rejuvenated and our immune systems get stronger too. So walking not only helps us stay fit but also improves our health, mood and overall well-being. Additionally, walking increases the chances of people suffering from anxiety because they get to know each other. Moreover, it helps build your social skills which can help you become a great team player. These skills can help you make connections you never thought were possible. Moreover, walking also helps increase confidence in life as we did before. All these things make walking a must-have for everyone because it’s a simple yet effective exercise that may help you keep yourself motivated, energetic, and healthy! Well, there are many reasons why people need to take up walking at least once a week. But the point is that you need to walk consistently to realize its benefits. In fact, the way we breathe, eat and speak plays a direct role in why we need walking. If you are someone who does not want to walk but always finds excuses to avoid it, now you may think walking may be something impossible to give up on. However, if you are someone who wants to join me in walking, here are five reasons why you should start doing so today:
1. It reduces Stress Levels
We know from science and psychology and other various sources that daily walking helps us control certain stress hormones like cortisol, adrenaline, etc. which is an active ingredient of a fight-or-flight response. Stress hormones make our muscles work harder, quicker, and longer than usual. That’s why we need more rest and less time in front of a computer when a stressful situation strikes. Walk helps reduce stress levels because of increased relaxation and reduced workload. Also, it is a natural medicine known as “brain rogaine” that lowers blood pressure. With regular walking, we can expect to experience decreased anxiety, depression, chronic fatigue syndrome, high cholesterol levels, anxiety disorders, and stress.
2. It Prevents Heart Diseases
In India, there are lots of heart diseases that affect millions. When we use any medicine, we may suffer some side effects as well. Yet another reason to start walking is that we never know how long we can live if we keep ourselves stressed. People of all ages are suffering from heart-related problems. Some are getting heart attacks and others are developing heart problems. Regardless of our age or location, there are different types of heart-related issues that we should talk about. There are also different types of heart-related issues, depending on the severity of the problem. Many of us use medication to help them deal with heart-related challenges. One of the biggest problems here is that we continue to suffer from heart problems even after we quit the drugs and exercise. A quick walk helps save your life especially when it comes to saving the lives of young and old people. This is because we get to know each other, our families, and especially our enemies, whom we need to stop treating as adults. Our family members also spend enough time together, which leads to more time together which reduces blood pressure and stress levels. This not only prevents our family members from heart issues but also stops their stress levels. Furthermore, if you are unable to reach that hour or two at a normal pace, then you can always consider taking the morning walk because it takes approximately 15 minutes. Exercise is also a helpful tool to prevent heart-related problems like heart attacks, heart failure, etc. By reducing stress levels, you can improve your heart health. Thus, both walking and exercising are extremely essential. They are very important things for anyone. No one can deny the significance of being healthy! So remember to drink water, breathe regularly and take your medicines regularly and you can surely enjoy longevity!
3. It Helps Reduce Risk of Diabetes
We all know diabetes is a medical term, but do you know it can happen to anyone? Do you know it is the leading cause of death for babies and children in Malaysia? To be honest, it can happen to anyone! It mostly happens due to excessive food intake and drinking habits. Now if we start exercising and walking, we learn to do something. For example, we may learn new skills through walking. Also, we do not always eat large meals. Walking helps us eat low calories and maintain healthy body weight. So we get healthier and wiser as we increase our physical activity. Then we get to reduce our consumption of fatty foods, sugar, salt, refined grains, alcohol, and processed foods. Regular exercise helps us develop tolerance and decrease body fat percentage. That in return reduces the chances of developing diabetes and heart-related problems. Therefore, it becomes necessary to spend time walking with a friend who works out or spend quality time with your kids. A healthy diet combined with exercise greatly improves our insulin sensitivity which acts as the beta-cell hormone. Hence, we are always able to control blood sugar levels. Additionally, healthy eating plus regular workouts help lower the chances of developing heart-related problems. Lastly and most importantly, walking and practicing exercises can prevent serious diseases like cancer, heart failure, Alzheimer's, or Parkinson's disease.
4. It Increases Your Energy Level
We all know that when we walk for a few minutes we can also burn thousands of calories a day. Through regular walking, we usually consume almost 3000 calories per week or more. Which means we would burn about 40 calories daily! Why that number is huge? Because walking burns around 3500 calories daily. Of course, this may vary from person to person, but no matter how big or how small this number seems, it is still staggering. How often do we exercise daily or go to the gym every day? Is it because we have to run, jump rope or play basketball or just simply jog in those days? What about spending time with friends by playing games? Or watching funny movies? Well, I’m sure to say every day, I walk around 300 to 500 steps at home. On average, I spend around 5 – 6 miles and it can last anywhere between one and a half to four hours. Even though it would seem an empty calorie, walking burns more calories than anything else! It is because walking burns around 350 calories per minute. Although it does not require heavy equipment, it is always a good idea to use walking sticks instead of running shoes or a tennis racket. Walking alone uses up almost 1200 calories a day which is more than what we use at the gym! Another important factor is the duration which can vary from 10 to 20 minutes. Just like if you watch yoga pants or swimsuits, it is always wise to stick to walking instead of the entire workout or body exercise plan, like if you are going to the gym. If walking is done during the middle of the workout, it makes sense to skip the workout and just walk from the beginning to the end. Alternatively, you can also practice stretching during the workout and walking afterward. This can reduce your caloric burn by about 300 calories per workout. Here are some interesting facts about walking if you are interested! Every second in walking burns 300 calories, while doing a plank of rock or skipping rope burns 200 calories! Likewise, if we get in shape, we tend to burn 100–210 calories per second, which is higher than lifting weights (300–480 calories). While walking helps us burn more calories, it does so only for light jogging and moderate cardio activity. Whereas lifting is where it shines the brightest because it increases calorie burn by around 400 calories per second. Only heavy activities like boxing or horse riding may burn more calories than walking in general or even just walking for a couple of minutes.
5. Lowers Blood Pressure
We all know some medicines have adverse effects on our health and also medications like thyroid binders, HRT is associated with causing heart disease. And yes, the same thing affects even our body size and stature. It decreases our blood pressure levels and stress levels. After all, we all know that we need to move more and breathe more effectively if we want a healthy body. A little amount of exertion in a short period can help to boost our heart rate and blood pressure. Accordingly, walking can help you maintain healthy blood pressure as well. So here are some benefits where this exercise can help you achieve your goal:
1. Improves Your Lung Function
We usually hear what we do not take seriously. Many things we do can result in lung-related problems and we need to take care of them right away. So that we can easily prevent them later.
